| Resilience. | Self-Reliance. | | Community Building. |
The Northern Initiatives Notes program is designed to further Northern Initiatives’ mission by supporting the growth of its loan fund. Proceeds from the sale of Notes are invested in small businesses for the purpose of enhancing our region’s economic vitality and sustainability. The Notes are unsecured debt instruments issued to investors who invest for specific terms with the expectation of a fixed rate of return. Such investment provides a way for local resources to be leveraged and used to support local entrepreneurs. The capital gained through the Notes program is used to make loans that fund new entrepreneurs, help grow small businesses, and support innovation in rural Michigan. The Notes program brings the kind of resources to rural communities that are comparable to those available in urban centers. Northern Initiatives Notes are registered securities that are sold only to institutions and residents of Michigan and Illinois. The minimum investment amount is $10,000. You may select a term of 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 years and an interest rate of 0%, .5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5% or 3%.
